Holiday Tiki Mai Thai

Chocolate rum stirred together with passion fruit, maple syrup, and warm spices makes this a summery exotic cocktail that is perfect for warming up a winter holiday gathering. This fun, festive, warm, and tropical holiday tipple will raise spirits. Cheers!

Ingredients

Cocktail:

  • 1 ½ passion fruits
  • 2 ounces Deadhead Dark Chocolate Rum
  • 1 ounce passion fruit juice
  • ½ ounce Tropical Simple Syrup, recipe below
  • ½ ounce blood orange juice

Garnish:

  • ½ passion fruit
  • Citrus leaves, optional
  • Shaved chocolate, optional

Directions

Cut the passion fruits in half and use a bar spoon to scrape their pulp into a rocks glass. Pour Dark Chocolate Rum, passion fruit juice, and Tropical Simple Syrup into rocks glass filled halfway with ice. Stir with a bar spoon and then top with ice.

Finish by pouring the red blood orange juice over the cocktail and garnish with half of a passion fruit, citrus leaves, and shaved chocolate.

Tropical Simple Syrup: Heat ½ cup maple syrup and ½ cup pineapple juice together in a sauce pot. Whisk in ½ tablespoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ground ginger, and ¼ teaspoon dried chili powder. Heat until dissolved. Cool and use as desired.
