Pale Ale Punch

When it comes to beer, IPA’s offer full-bodied flavor and hoppy refreshment for discerning beer lovers. Here, Chef Emily Ellyn creates a Pale Ale Punch for a sweeter and refreshing twist on the IPA by incorporating ginger and citrus flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 (12-ounce) bottles of Pale Ale
  • Ginger Clove simple syrup
  • 3 tablespoon chopped ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • ¼ cup honey (or organic stevia)
  • 1 (12-ounce) bottle Ginger Beer
  • 1 ½ cups fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1 orange sliced, to garnish
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves, to garnish

Directions

Make Ginger simple syrup by bringing Ginger Beer and honey to a boil in a small saucepot. Add the ginger and clove to the mixture and bring back to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the mixture off heat for 20 minutes.

Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a container and use immediately or refrigerate for future use.

Make Spritzer: In large pitcher mix simple syrup, Pale Ale, Orange Juice.

Serve over ice in a small mug or pint glass and garnish with sliced orange and whole cloves.
