Indian Summer Milk Punch

This Indian Summer Milk Punch takes a classic milk punch cocktail and gives it a remix inspired by 1920s India. Spices like cardamom and turmeric give refreshingly lively floral notes to a drink often associated with holiday nogs.

Ingredients

Cocktail:

  • 2 ounces English whiskey
  • 1 ounce Cardamom Liqueur
  • ½ ounce turmeric syrup, recipe below
  • 2 ounces cashew milk

Garnish:

  • Candied mango
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder

Directions

Make candied mango garnish by coating mango in honey and dusting in sugar, turmeric powder, and cardamom powder.

Make cocktail by mixing first four ingredients with ice until chilled, then strain into an American Metalcraft® Classic Mint Julep Cup over ice.

Garnish with a piece of candied mango on and serve with a straw.

*Note, if making a party size, prepare in a pitcher with chilled ingredients and serve with ice.

Turmeric Syrup:  Add 1 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar to a small saucepan and heat until sugar is dissolved.  Add 1 tbsp turmeric powder and stir until dissolved. Allow to cool and store excess in the fridge.  Some separation will occur – just shake up the syrup before use.
