Ingredients

  • 1 (17.3-ounce) box puff pastry
  • ¼ cup Frigo® Blue Cheese Crumbles
  • ¼ cup fig jam, or substitute orange marmalade
  • ¼ cup apple, small diced
  • 2 tablespoons crispy bacon, chopped fine
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnut
  • 2 teaspoons fresh sage, minced fine
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350° F.

In a small bowl gently toss together Frigo® Blue Cheese Crumbles, fig jam, apple, chopped walnut, bacon, fresh sage, and fresh ground black pepper until all ingredients are evenly coated in jam.

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Place 1 sheet of puff pasty on each baking sheet. Cut each sheet of puff pastry into 9 individual squares, each about 3-inches by 3-inches. For each square, use a paring knife to cut from each corner toward the center, stopping 1-inch from the center. You will have a 1-inch circle in the center of each square and all of the corners will be cut in half. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the blue cheese mixture onto the center of each square. For each square, lift one half of a corner and fold it toward the center of the square, gently pushing the point into the blue cheese mixture. Continuing around the square, fold the other halves of corners (3 more corners) toward the center of the square, and gently press all 4 tips together to form a pinwheel shape.

Brush the dough with the beaten egg. Bake until the dough is golden brown, 17 – 20 minutes. Serve warm.

Rad Tip: Brushing your dough with egg before baking ensures you get a delicious golden brown crust, turning your pastry dish into an eye catching and taste-bud-pleasing treat!
